Some children asked for copies of maths game for the holidays, others brought home writing paper. None of this is compulsory. Family time, playdates, conversation and creativity would be top of my list of holiday learning.
If your child makes a holiday journal on book creator and says they know how to save it as a video and send it to me this is true ! I'm more than happy to receive such an email.
Holiday scavenger hunt - the class has an opportunity to share their holiday with friends after the holidays. On the first Monday back we use this scavenger hunt to spark discussion.

I'm getting some amazing feedback on children controlling and sharing emotions. I am finding children who can not only talk through their feelings, but are also looking at issues from more than one point of view.
Ask your child when they have been a good listener this week.
Ask your child when they have looked at a situation ( such as an issue with friends) from more than one point of view.
Ask your child if they feel proud of the way they react to negative situations? What strategies do they use to overcome these?

Happy Lodge- The children are becoming very proficient interviewers. They are asking additional questions to try to extract deep answers from their elderly friends. Ask your child the most interesting story they heard this week at Happy Lodge. Ask your child how they get deeper answers from their elderly. Ask your child what stage they are at in their BOOK CREATOR Memory Book.
Easter hunt - Thank you to Lucas and his family for providing us with an Easter Egg Hunt in class. 1 Egg is still hidden ! Ask your child why we have Eggs at Easter time.
