The class had a fabulous week focusing on symmetry.
Ask your child how they investigated symmetry this week.
Can you find anything symmetrical in your home?

Some people used POW on the iPAD to record their findings. Others used Book Creator and made small eBOOKS

As you know we have been investigating Information / Non Fiction books.
Mrs Reid, our librarian, taught us how to search and filter our searches to find books which were suitable and which we were passionate about.
Ask your child to show you their MYON account. 
it would be nice if you helped to select 3 suitable books together to add to  "MY LIST"
Ask your child why they think these are suitable books.
Ask your child what would make a book unsuitable.

Ask your child where they can collect information. (I'm trying to use the term "Sources of Information")
Ask your child why we came up with symbols to represent sources of information.

BOUNCING BACK!

Ruth Harris, a parent from last year, is going to come in each week to work with me to teach the class about being RESILIENT and BOUNCING BACK.
We have explained to the children that people use "tools from a toolbox" to help them get over hurdles. Ruth inspired the children by reading OH THE PLACES YOU'LL GO, by Dr Suess.

Here we are getting prepared for Happy Lodge next week. Some Middle School girls came to help us with the dance. On Monday the pod will be turned in to a shopping centre and children will shop from a shopping list to fill their shoe box. K2 are making the wrapping paper , and our big buddies are coming to help us wrap these.

Have you seen one of these wrist bands around your child's arm, or a lovely certificate hanging out in their blue folder? 
Ask them why they earned such treasure.
