It was lovely to meet so many parents this week at PT conferences. Please remember that my door is always open.
Most of the class have been to the movie INSIDE OUT. We'll be referring to these emotions in Morning Meeting as well as using the movie as a tool when including emotions in writing. Here's an article which arrived in my INbox which you might find interesting.
Ask your child what these Maths phrases mean...
"Number sentence" "equation" "Doubles" "Near doubles" "strategy"
How are we using these phrases in maths ?
(Some children opted to bring home today's MATHS game to play with you)
Ask your child what they did during Golden Time this afternoon.
Mr Wilcox and Yash are having a game of chess during 'Golden Time'
Everyone has made excellent choices when selecting JUST RIGHT independent readers, shared readers, poetry books or read aloud books to take home each night. Thanks for all the fabulous feedback and for supporting your child as they learn to select appropriate Independent readers. Poetry folders are in bags now, and an explanation is inside the front cover.
Ask your child if they have found their favourite authors in the class yet.
Everyone now has a responsibility in the classroom to help our COMMUNITY tick along. Ask your child what their job is and how this is going.
Ask your child how many members of our UWC community they can recall from our COMMUNITY walk ?
Have a fabulous weekend !
